Disability Rights & Medical Care

Some people with disabilities do not use health care services any more than the rest of us do. However many of the issues that create a need for patient advocacy encompass disability rights.  The services needed to address disability related medical and mental health services issues are obvious, however accommodations to get disability related and basic routine health care services may not.

This section of our website will deal with resources for people with disabilities like Medicaid and services provided through the state of Oregon's Department of Aging and People with Disabilities (aka Senior & Disabled Services), as well as how the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and 504 of the federal Rehabilitation Act can help you access the health care services you need.  We will provide information and links to resources to help you file complaints against health care provides who violate your disability rights.
